Project X Zone 2 Almost Had Bayonetta, Which Kamiya Now Regrets

Project X Zone 2 is a joint project game between Sega, Bandai Namco, and Capcom. The three publishers have put characters in their most iconic franchises together in this strategy RPG, from Street Fighter’s Ken and Chun-Li to Tekken’s Jin Kazama and Hotsuma from Sega’s Shinobi series. One character who had the possibility to join the cast was Sega’s Bayonetta. Hideki Kamiya, the man behind the titular Platinum Games character, said that he was offered to have her join the cast, but later declined.

His reasoning for doing so? He wants Devil May Cry’s Dante (a series he also created) and Bayonetta to come together on his terms, but now he’s not sure that was the right move.

This doesn’t mean that he isn’t open to her joining the cast in the future. In fact, if Project X Zone 3 becomes a thing, he’d like her to join their roster.

In the meantime, he’s wondering which Dante fans would want to cross over with Bayonetta.

Would you like to see Bayonetta join the cast of Project X Zone in the future? Which Dante would you want to see her fight with? Let us know in the comments below.
