Bethesda continues to let the cat slowly creep out of the bag with more The Evil Within 2 preview time. YouTuber MrMattyPlays posted one of the least obnoxious of the previews that journalists and streamers were allowed to upload from their time with the game.

The latest preview of The Evil Within 2 takes place in chapter 5. We get an opportunity to see some of the upgrade system, which seems pretty extensive, and the crafting screen is shown as well. One of the highlights of the video is the encounter with the Guardian. This boss (or mini-boss) is made up of a ton of dismembered body parts which become entwined to make up a powerful foe. As you can see in the footage, the more damage you do, the more pieces fall off, and eventually, the Guardian ends up having to support its upper body with nothing more than an exposed spinal column.

One of your objectives in the fifth chapter will be to stabilize the STEM so that Union doesn’t collapse before you can find your daughter. The camera motif throughout adds a creepy feeling of being watched, and it looks like the pacing is going to be much improved over the first game.

We don’t have long to wait to play The Evil Within 2. The game will release on PC, PS4, and Xbox One on October 13.
