Pokemon Let’s Go Map and Version Exclusives Revealed

With a brand new trailer that gave players a closer look at the many features coming to Pokemon Let’s Go: Pikachu and Pokemon Let’s Go: Eevee, trainers were also granted further details concerning the games’ exclusive Pokemon and the revamped Kanto region.

Right after the trailer dropped, the Nintendo of Europe Twitter account tweeted out high-definition screenshots of the very familiar Kanto region. As players have already seen a ton of gameplay in Let’s Go’s Viridian Forest, there was still so much mystery concerning what the rest of the region would look like in its new polished, 3D style. If the map is anything to go off of though, players can rest easy (or continue to be angry) because the much-explored Kanto region is absolutely gorgeous and ripe for new adventures. Though, this isn’t the only thing this screenshot shows.

It also informs players of the location of all wild the Pokemon in the game, including the Kanto starters, continuing the trend of making Let’s Go easier and more accessible than the mainline games. In Pokemon Yellow Version, players received the Kanto starters by completing various tasks, but this new map shows that trainers will encounter Bulbasaur near the daycare right under Cerulean City, likely so that they will be able to more easily defeat Misty. Meanwhile, Ivysaur and Venusaur will be available right outside of Celadon City, above Cycling Road. Charmander and its evolutions look to be hanging around Route 25, above Cerulean City towards Bill’s house, and Spuirtle and Wartortle can be found near Vermillion City and Diglett Cave. Blastoise is near Route 7, right outside of Saffron City.

Much like the original Pokemon Red and Blue Versions, Let’s Go will also feature version exclusive Pokemon that trainers must trade in order to “catch ’em all.” Though, these version exclusives are not very similar to their Red and Blue counterparts. According to Nintendo’s Twitter, Oddish, Sandshrew and Growlithe will be available in Let’s Go: Pikachu. Meanwhile, Bellsprout, Vulpix and Meowth will appear in Let’s Go: Eevee. Nintendo’s wording helps suggest that more version exclusives will be announced in the future.

Pokemon Let’s Go: Pikachu and Let’s Go: Eevee will be available for the Nintendo Switch on Nov. 16.
