Pokémon GO’s GDC Presentation Gets Canceled, We All Cry

It looks like Pokémon GO won’t be going to the Game Developers Conference this month if the GDC website is to go by.

The conference is set to take place in San Francisco from March 14 to March 18. Pokémon GO developer, Niantic, was due to hold a presentation about the upcoming mobile game to share new information about the game. The session was supposed to take place on Monday, March 14 at 15:00 for half an hour, but according to the GDC website, the session has unfortunately been cancelled.

There has been no comment from either Niantic or Nintendo as to why the session has been cancelled, or whether this may just be temporary while the session gets rescheduled. Poké-fans all over the world will be disappointed to hear that the presentation has been cancelled considering how hotly anticipated Pokémon GO has become.

Pokémon GO will allow players to travel between the real world and the virtual world of Pokémon on an iPhone or Android device. By using your camera, the game will use real location information to have players searching all over the world in order to discover the little pocket monsters. When you’ve found one you can battle and capture them before trading them with other Pokémon trainers.

With the news of this presentation’s cancellation, it doesn’t bode well for the upcoming smartphone game. It certainly doesn’t mean the game has been scrapped altogether, as it may be that Niantic has instead opted to release the information at another time. E3 perhaps? We’re crossing our fingers that we’ll hear more about the mobile game soon, and wiping away our tears with said crossed fingers.
