Over the last few months a new obession has gripped the PC Gaming community; PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds. The Early Access battle royale has been sitting at the top of Steam’s bestseller list ever since launch. Last night, the main developer and the cause of the game’s namesake, PlayerUnknown, tweeted out that the game is getting a new desert-themed map; also giving us a first look at what it’ll look like.

These first screenshots of the new desert map don’t show much but tell us a lot about what we’re likely to expect: wide sprawling deserts, arid weather, and…. cacti. One screenshot shows a bicycle, and another shows a train. We’re praying that these’ll both be rideable – being able to control a moving train with a full squad of friends? Sign me up.

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds was released onto Steam’s Early Access program back in march, and has quickly become one of the platform’s most popular games of 2017. Back at E3, we saw the announcement that it’ll be headed to the Xbox One, so now even console players can get excited about the new map. We haven’t been given a concrete date on when to expect the map, only these screenshots, but it looks like it’s coming along very nicely.
