Final Fantasy XV’s Dev Team Want its Next Game to Be on the Next Generation of Hardware

We need more power!

Final Fantasy XV was released late last year after a painfully long development period of over ten years. The game itself was great, but perhaps not worth waiting a decade for. The developers are still working on expansions and DLC for the game but they have also begun discussions about their next project, though it might be a while before we see it.

In a recent interview with DualShockers, Final Fantasy XV’s director Hajime Tabata explained that the team are looking for powerful hardware to run their next game and that they want to go even further than what we get in the Windows version of Final Fantasy XV. In fact, the Windows version is only about half as powerful as they want the next game to be.

It seems we won’t be seeing the developer’s next game during this generation of console and PC hardware, but we may well see it in the next few years when the likes of the PlayStation 5, next Xbox, and more powerful PC specs are out.

Final Fantasy XV is still a massive achievement and has been very well received by both gamers and critics alike. It has been supported with plenty of expansions and DLC since its release, including a cross-over with Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed franchise.
