Persona fans have been tirelessly waiting for more info on Persona 5 for years, and now with the game’s Japanese release right around the corner we’re starting to see more. During a Premium Event on a NicoNico live stream, Atlus shared tons of info on their upcoming RPG, including the first 18 minutes of the game.

Persona 5 opens with our protagnist “The Phantom,” breaking into a kind of Casion location. He nimbly hops over some rafters, before getting into battle with shadows and then escaping out the back into an area crammed with cages and posters on the wall. The first 18 minutes mixes anime scenes with actual gameplay, switching back and forth between the two.

Unfortunately, the protagonist ends up captured and detained, where some slick interactive menu choices have you choosing your name and difficulty. Finally, things end with our hero on the train, looking dazed as if he’s almost woken up from a dream. You can see the full video down below, but of course be aware that this is the beginning of the game, if you don’t want to spoil it.

Persona 5 launches on February 14 for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3. The game will be launching prior to that in Japan, on September 15. Atlus also showed off a few new minutes of the game’s daily activities and battle system yesterday, before the Premium Event began.

What do you think of everything we’ve seen from Persona 5 so far? Does it look like it’s living up to the feeling of its predecessors? Tell us what you think in the comments.
