The first PAX of the year, PAX South, comes just before PAX East. It’s being held in the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center in San Antonio, TX from Jan. 17 to the 19th. Single-day badges are available for $45, and three-day badges can be purchased for $95.

For those who wish to share their opinions on games with an audience, PAX South panel submissions are open until Nov. 1. Those who want to register as media will have until Dec. 13 to do so.

As for PAX East, media and content creators will be able to register up until late November.

Studio Head of The Coalition (Gears of War 4 and Gears 5), Rod Fergusson, will be opening up the show as the keynote speaker this year. Fergusson has a lengthy resume which includes overseeing the 2003 Xbox release of Counter-Strike, as well as producing the first Gears of War.

PAX East hasn’t had its full schedule revealed yet, but if it’s anything like last year, fans will have a chance to get hands-on time with demos, see unique new games, and attend a number of industry panels.
