Overwatch’s Hero 27 Officially Announced As Brigitte Lindholm

This article is over 6 years old and may contain outdated information

Blizzard has just announced the identity of the latest Overwatch hero, and it looks like it’s Brigitte Lindholm, the daughter of Torbjörn. After teasing fans with a series of images posted to the official Overwatch Twitter account, Blizzard has finally let the cat out of the bag. She’s available to play via the PTR right now, and specializes in armor and defense.

The newest character to join the ranks of Overwatch is an engineer who’s dressed in heavy armor, with an aptitude for creating armor and defensive systems in direct opposition to her father’s skillset.

Brigitte can throw Repair Packs to heal teammates, or automatically heal nearby allies when she damages foes with her Flail. Her Flail is capable of a wide swing to strike multiple targets, or a Whip Shot that stuns an enemy at range. When entering the fray, Barrier Shield provides personal defense while she attacks enemies with Shield Bash. Brigitte’s ultimate ability, Rally, gives her a substantial short-term boost of speed and provides long-lasting armor to all her nearby allies.

Brigitte’s abilities include the Rocket Flail, Brigitte’s melee weapon that lets her hit a few enemies at the same time with just a single swing. She can also use her flail as a ranged weapon, with her Whip Shot move and knock enemies away from her to keep them at bay. From there, she can also use an energy barrier in front of her to absorb damage, and then dash forward with a Shield Bash to stun enemies. But that’s not all she can do.

She can even heal allies over time with her Inspire move, provided she hits enemies with it in the first place. Further from that, she can use Rally to move quicker and provide all nearby allies with armor that will last until it’s removed by taking damage.

You can learn more about Brigitte via the most recent Overwatch Developer update below. Also, it’s pronounced “Bri-gee-ta.”
