During today’s State of Play, Oddworld: Soulstorm’s creative director went through multiple gameplay aspects for the new Oddworld game.
Oddworld: Souldstorm is about Abe, the unlikely hero of the Oddworld games who finds himself becoming a shepherd to lead his people out of the grasp of the evil glucons. Oddworld’s platforming is described as 2.9D due to its use of 3D space but still acts as a 2D platformer.
The game will make use of the Playstation 5’s haptic feedback as you’ll be able to feel Abe’s heartbeat in tense situations. Check out the trailer below to see all the gameplay shown off.
The Oddworld series started in 1997 and is created by the developers Oddworld Inhabitants. There have been six Oddworld games to date, with 2 HD remasters.
Oddworld: Soulstorm releases on April 6 for PS4 and PS5 with no word on when the PC version releases.
