Octopath Traveler Producers Tease Multiple New Announcements

Square Enix has found success with its retro-style JRPGs like Octopath Traveler, and apparently, there is more coming down the line from the same developers.

Octopath Traveler producer Tomoya Asano and Masashi Takahashi, both of whom have also worked on the Bravely Default series and are currently laboring on Triangle Strategy, dropped some teases within an extensive article published by Japanese website 4Gamer, in which local developers shared their plans for next year.

Asano-san mentioned that 2022 will see the release of Triangle Strategy and the 10th anniversary of the Bravely series, but there are multiple announcements and releases coming. According to him, it may be the biggest year ever for the team.

Takahashi-san also echoed that sentiment, mentioning the hope to make a number of announcements in 2022.

No further hints were provided about the nature of said announcements, but considering the developers’ resumes, there are certainly plenty of reasons to be excited.

Could we hear about a new Octopath Traveler game (this time for consoles, hopefully), of something else entirely? We’ll likely know later next year.
