Battlefield 1 has enjoyed critical success since its October 21st release date, and, according to an official announcement made today, EA DICE isn’t slowing down. Some major updates are on the way, and here’s what players can expect to see in the near future.
If you’re eager to one-shot waves of enemy infantry from across the map, the incoming Hardcore Servers should sate your appetite. According to the official report, Hardcore Servers are “coming soon, so keep an eye out for more news in the near future.”
EA DICEÂ has also listened to players’ input, and will be implementing tweaks to the Suez map in Conquest, in order to “make the matches more balanced and the map size more fitting.” According to the official announcement:
“We have expanded the layout to feature five instead of three flags. We’re also reducing the capture area size of the two control points located within the map’s villages (currently flag A and C) to create more dynamic matches. Furthermore, we’re adding one armored vehicle to each team’s base to give dominated teams a better chance to quickly get across the map and capture a control point behind enemy lines.”
With these tweaks and changes, players should have a better overall experience when battling for control of the Suez.
If you’re looking for an excuse to call off work and go on a Battlefield binge, you’ll have a great one on November 16th. According to the developers, we can expect this “week-long celebration of the Battlefield franchise” to be “packed with new activities, including log-in rewards, a livestream, a unique Battlepack revision, community missions, and much more.”
If you’ve been playing Battlefield 1 since launch, you’ve probably been curious about the locked Fog of War game mode. Wonder no more, because Fog of War will premiere at Battlefest, as Battlefield 1’s first Official Custom Game. As you may expect from the title, players “will be challenged by limited sight” as they fight “in fog with the mini-map and soldier name tags turned off”, in a unique Team Deathmatch experience. This fresh and challenging variation of Team Deathmatch should provide players with a welcome addition to their Battlefield 1 multiplayer rotation.
Finally, who doesn’t like free stuff?
Players can expect a free map, called Giant’s Shadow, in December. This map will come after a major November update, which will be “filled with various tweaks and improvements.” “Among other things,” the team “will be adding the Rent-a-Server Program, a new Custom Game and tweaks to matchmaking and server balancing.”
