The data is updated as of March 31, 2021, when the latest fiscal quarter (which began on January 1) ended.

Specifically, the infographic below shows exactly how many Nintendo Switch units have been shipped to retailers. 107.65 million units of the hybrid console have hit the shelves as of March 31, 2022. We also get to see software units, and numbers for older consoles.

This means that the console has shipped 4.11 million units worldwide during the quarter (compared to 2 million PS5 and 100,000 PS4 units shipped by Sony in the same period).

The press release also includes the outlook for the full fiscal year ending on March 31, 2023. Nintendo predicts to ship 21 million Switch units in the twelve-month period, which would bring the total to 128.65 million units if the goal was achieved.

Looking at the financial situation, we learn that Nintendo’s overall sales for the full fiscal year (between April 2021 and March 2022) dropped slightly (3.6%) year-on-year, while operating profit dropped 7.5%.

The forecast for the next year predicts further drops in sales (5.6%) and operating profit (15.6%).

Pokemon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl has shipped 14.65 million units, Pokemon Legends Arceus has shipped 12.64 million units, and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe has shipped 9,94 million units.

Additional data indicates that the Switch console enjoyed the second-highest sell-through (sales to customers) for a fiscal year since launch, while lower than the previous year.

Sell-through for software during the fiscal year is estimated to be the highest of the console’s lifetime. Pokemon Legends Arceus is estimated to have sold through over 11.4 million units in 10 weeks, while Kirby and the Forgotten Land’s sell-through estimate is at over 2.1 million in 2 weeks.

Below you can find an update of shipments for all first-party games that have sold over a million.
