Sony released a new PlayStation Underground episode today, featuring the highly anticipated action RPG NieR: Automata. In the lengthy 3-minute gameplay video, we got to take a look at the game’s massive open world, the world’s inhabitants, a few quests, along with some side activities you can take part in. You can check out the gameplay footage down below.
The original NIER had a fishing mini game that wasn’t too fun to play, but the new fishing mini game in Automata definitely looks quite a bit more entertaining. By moving to any body of water, 2B can summon her Pod and order it to plunge itself into the water to look for fish. 2B then sits back and relax as she waits for the Pod to emerge with a catch. Pretty nifty.
Aside from that, the open world itself looks rather expansive. Most of the previously released footage focused largely on the city area that’s been overrun by nature and forestry, but near the end of the video, we got a look at the Desert Zone, which is another part of the world map that players can explore freely. The Desert Zone looks just as massive as the city, so it should be interesting to see what other environments NieR: Automata has to offer.
NieR: Automata is set to be released for the PS4 on March 7.
