Niantic Announces Changes Coming To Eggs in Pokemon GO

This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information

Earlier today, Niantic revealed the Pokemon changes that have come to eggs in Pokemon GO. We already know all the Pokemon appearing in Strange Eggs, but this is the first time they have officially listed them out like this.

In those 12 km Strange Eggs you’ll be able to hatch Larvitar, Absol, Sandile, Scraggy, Trubbish, Pawniard, Vullaby, and Deino. You may notice that all of these Pokemon are part of an evolutionary line that is either Dark- or Poison-type.

Besides the recent addition of GO Rocket’s Strange Eggs, all other Eggs that you can obtain from PokeStops and Gyms will be getting different hatchable mons. That means 2, 5, and 10 km Eggs will be hatching many different Pokemon now. There’s no indication that anything has changed with 7 km Eggs.

Below you’ll be able to find a full table of all the Pokemon that will now be in Eggs. However, it’s important to keep in mind that any regional Pokemon will still only be available in their specified regions. For example, You’ll still only be able to hatch Tauros in eggs from North America.

Egg TypePotential Pokemon
2 kmZubat, Poliwag, Cubone, Magikarp, Mareep, Wooper, Snubbull, Volbeat, Illumise, Wailmer, Swablu, Buizel, Buneary, Snivy, Tepig, Oshawott, and Minccino
5 kmMachop, Farfetch’d, Seel, Voltorb, Lickitung, Kangaskhan, Tauros, Eevee, Pineco, Heracross, Corsola, Ralts, Aron, Torkoal, Feebas, Tropius, Clamperl, Relicanth, Mime Jr., Chatot, Hippopotas, Carnivine, Pansage, Pansear, Panpour, Pachirisu, Blitzle, Roggenrola, Maractus, Gothita, Solosis, and Bouffalant
10 kmShinx, Gible, Riolu, Audino, Timburr, Darumaka, Sigilyph, Emolga, Ferroseed, Klink, Elgyem, Litwick, Axew, Golett, and Rufflet

This massive list of changes is nice to have because Niantic doesn’t always come right out and tell people what will be appearing in order to keep the element of surprise.

But of course, they still decided to keep one secret. The lineup of Pokemon in Adventure Sync Eggs is also changing. These are obtained by walking 25 or 50 km in a single week. The shorter distance yields one 5 km Egg and a 10 km one is the prize for walking 50 km.

Some of these Pokemon may change during the Halloween Event, but the list should return to normal once it comes to an end. If you would like to check out the official release from The Pokemon GO Team, then you can find it right here.
