In a tweet posted by the official Pokémon Twitter account, we got confirmation of a release date for the game, and it might be sooner than you’d have expected.

New Pokemon Snap is making its way to Nintendo Switch on April 30.

The tweet not only included a release date for the game, but also a new trailer showing off its gorgeous art style, as well as some gameplay.

The trailer also gives us our first look at the box art for the game featuring Pokemon from across all generations including Meganium, Pichu, Scorbunny, Dodrio, and more.

New Pokemon Snap is being developed by Bandai Namco, and will take players to the scenic Lental region.

Take a look at the description of the game from the Switch eShop listing:

Travel to unknown islands with beautiful scenery like lush jungles and sandy beaches. The Pokémon pictures you take there will be used to build your very own Pokémon Photodex!

Photograph lively wild Pokémon in their natural habitats as you research and explore unknown islands. Journey through a variety of environments such as beaches and jungles to capture previously-unseen Pokémon behaviors. The photos you take can also be used to fill out your very own Pokémon Photodex!

You can preorder New Pokémon Snap later today. You can watch the new release date trailer below.
