The most recent release of the series, which in Japan is known as Fire Emblem if, is made of two games which have both released on the Nintendo 3DS. Nintendo have stated that over 300,000 copies have been sold overall, which crushes the previous record set by Fire Emblem: Awakening in 2013.

The two games are called Birthright, and Conquest, with both offering a slightly different experience. Birthright is the release that is aimed towards people that are new to the series, and may want something more similar to others in the series. Conquest on the other hand is billed as being more challenging, with your resources being more limited to what Fire Emblem fans may be used to, which may affect your strategy in battle.

It has been just over three years since Fire Emblem: Awakening released on the Nintendo 3DS in the USA, with the game getting a great response from both fans, and critics. The 3DS itself made its way onto American shelves on March 27, 2011, nearly five years ago.
