Extinction was announced back in June of this year with quite a trailer that showed one man versus an ogre that was about 25 times his size. Well, after 4 months, Extinction is back with a new gameplay trailer.

The gameplay trailer (included below) not only shows us the in-game graphics, the scale, and how you will be expected to take down these massive beasts but also offers up a bit of exposition on the upcoming title. But the official website of the game is where it’s at in terms of game description.

From time immemorial, the world has been at war. For generations, humans have fought one another for land and riches while our true enemies have lurked in the distance: throngs of ravenous monsters standing 150 feet tall that aim to destroy our kind. Only those trained in the ways of the ancient order stand a chance at defeating these monstrosities, known colloquially as “ogres.”

Avil is the name of the hero in Extinction, and it falls on his shoulders to save humanity from the Ravenii, the more official name for the ogres.

Extinction is set to release in early 2018.

The game will be available on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
