The sequel to 2008’s Mirror’s Edge is a month away, but DICE are offering an early look at the game in April. This month, a closed beta for Mirror’s Edge Catalyst will run for five days.
In February, DICE and EA opened a sign-up page for the Mirror’s Edge beta. The beta, which begins on April 22, will be rolled out to two groups of registrants. Frontrunners will get beta access on April 22, and everyone else chosen to beta test will get access on April 23.
This beta test will include story missions, side missions and some of the game’s optional content.
This beta will also have Social Play features, which act as a multiplayer mode for Catalyst. These modes include player-created time trials and races. There’s also the option to view another player’s ghost and see how they completed a race.
The latest developer diary shows these Social Play modes and also hints at a companion app that can be used to create challenges for other players.
The closed beta for Mirror’s Edge Catalyst will run from April 22 to April 26. The full game is coming to Xbox One, PC and PlayStation 4 on May 26, 2016.
