Marcus Fenix’s Voice Actor Won’t Voice His Other Famous Characters in Gears of War 4

Dang, was hoping Bender would show up.
This article is over 8 years old and may contain outdated information

You’ve heard of John DiMaggio before. Aside from voicing Gears of War’s Marcus Fenix, he’s also been the voice of famous animated characters, such as Dr. Drakken from Kim Possible, Jake the Dog from Adventure Time, and Futurama’s Bender Bendin’ Rrrrodriguez. If you were hoping you’d hear Bender during multiplayer, the San Diego Comic-Con is the bearer of bad news.

At the panel, DiMaggio was asked about the possibility of him voicing one of his other characters in the upcoming third-person shooter. Both DiMaggio and The Coalition’s Rod Fergusson laughed at the idea, but the latter said that they aren’t “making a Deadpool game”, so the voice actor would have to stick with Marcus’ naturally growly voice and keep fourth-wall breaks few and far between. Which sucks, because Jake the Dog swearing would be hilarious.

Gears of War 4 comes to the Xbox One on October 11. Along with that information, the full name of his son, JD, was revealed at Comic-Con as well.
