New Zelda: Breath of the Wild Screenshot Confirms Classic Character

Beedle makes a triumphant return in Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Courtesy of Game Informer, we have this close-up image showing Beedle peddling his wares once again in Hyrule.  He has been seen in the distance in videos before, but this is his first close-up.

He’s a long-running fan-favorite character, showing up originally in Wind Waker, and selling all sorts of helpful items to Link on his adventure.

Zelda: Breath of the Wild

Take note: Instead of his boat shop, he now carries all his merchandise on his back! Also, that backpack shop is shaped like a beetle – a nice little riff on his name. He also has a little shop-front-awning-style sun-visor – very impressive.

There have been fan theories regarding when exactly Breath of the Wild, the upcoming Zelda adventure for Wii U and Switch, falls in the fabled Zelda timeline.

This doesn’t mean that Zelda: Breath of the Wild is necessarily in the Wind Waker timeline though, because he had also shown up in Skyward Sword – which was a prequel to the entire franchise. Beedle transcends time and space.
