Kingdom Hearts III is getting really close to its release, and Square Enix has been counting down on its official Twitter account. Yet, they just switched gears.
While earlier countdown posts were just static images, now we’re getting cute 18-second clips dedicated to each world, mixing cutscenes of the game with bespoke animations.
Below you can watch the first two, dedicated to Monsters Inc. and Pirates of the Caribbean.

Considering how long we waited in decimal hell for a full-fledged mainline Kingdom Hearts release, it’s difficult not to feel excited, and it almost feels surreal that we’re finally this close to playing the game.
If you want to see more of Kingdom Hearts III, a recent TV commercial celebrated the upcoming release while a bunch of recent trailers showcased the pre-order keyblades. You can also check out some more keyblade artwork released recently by Square Enix.
Over the past couple of days, Square Enix also released a batch of lovely screenshots and a second gallery.
Kingdom Hearts III will finally be released on PS4 and Xbox first in Japan on Jan. 25. Western gamers in North America and Europe will finally get to play the game on Jan. 29.
