Jump Force Embraces the Heart of the Cards and Adds Yugi From Yu-Gi-Oh

This article is over 6 years old and may contain outdated information

Yeah you heard that right, Jump Force’s newest addition to its roster is none other than Yugi Muto from the popular card-based anime series Yu-Gi-Oh. Bandai Namco announced the latest character via Twitter today, along with a singular screenshot. Other than the reveal image, we don’t know anything about how Yugi will play or fit into the overall story of Jump Force, which brings together iconic characters from across Shonen Jump’s 50-year history.

The addition of a character from Yu-Gi-Oh seemingly opens the game up to any number of possibilities now. Up until this point, the only characters have been from popular action-based manga, meaning Yugi is the most different inclusion yet. It’ll be interesting to see what other possibilities this opens up.

The full playable roster now consists of the following characters

  • Goku (Dragon Ball Z)
  • Frieza (Dragon Ball Z)
  • Vegeta (Dragon Ball Z)
  • Naruto Uzumaki (Naruto)
  • Sasuke Uchiha (Naruto)
  • Monkey D. Luffy (One Piece)
  • Roronoa Zolo (One Piece)
  • Sanji Vinsmoke (One Piece)
  • Sabo (One Piece)
  • Marshall D. Teach known as Blackbeard (One Piece)
  • Ichigo Kurosaki (Bleach)
  • Rukia Kuchiki (Bleach)
  • Aizen Sosuke (Bleach)
  • Gon Freecss (HunterxHunter)
  • Hisoka Morroh (HunterxHunter)
  • Yugi Muto (Yu-Gi-Oh)

Jump Force is currently scheduled to release sometime in 2019 for Xbox One and PS4. You can check out the latest trailer for the game here, showing off Planet Namek along with Vegeta and HunterxHunter characters.
