Today Sega opened a teaser website with a countdown that appears to lead to an upcoming announcement related to the Judgment franchise.

According to the countdown, the announcement will come on May 7 at 7:00 am PDT, 10:00 am EDT, 3:00 pm BST, or 4:00 pm CEST, depending on where you live.

The reveal will be made via a livestream, which you can find embedded at the bottom of the post. Interestingly, the video thumbnail shows the following when hovering over it with the mouse.

At the moment, there is no further information about the content of the announcement. Yet, considering the success of Judgment, I wouldn’t be surprised if a new game was in the works.

Judgment, or Judge Eyes, as it’s known in Japan, was originally released for PS4 in 2018 by Sega’s Ryu Ga Gotoku studio, which is known mainly for the Yakuza series. The development team isn’t the only thing in common with the beloved crime franchise, as they also share the setting. Both series are set in Kamurocho, a fictionalized version of the Kabukicho red light district in Shinjuku ward, Tokyo.

That being said, there also are differences, with Judgment sporting brand-new investigation gameplay and protagonist Takayuki Yagami played by popular actor Takuya Kimura.

A remastered version for PS4, Xbox Series X|S, and Google Stadia releases today. If you’d like to read more about it, you can check out our review.
