Uncharted: The Lost Legacy is the upcoming stand-alone DLC expansion that is set some time after the events of Uncharted: A Thief’s End. The expansion will be available to those who haven’t played A Thief’s End and will follow Uncharted 2’s Chloe Frazer as she teams up with the antagonist of Uncharted 4, Nadine Ross, to uncover a lost treasure in India.
In an interview with IBT Times UK, developer Naughty Dog’s head of communications, Arne Mayer, stated that the DLC will be quite long and that the developers had trouble keeping it short.
“Years ago, when we were asked if we were ever doing a single-player expansion for Uncharted we always said, ‘Well, we don’t have the self-discipline to do that,'” recalled Mayer. “If we tried to do that we’d create a full game.
“There’s no way we could constrict and restrain ourselves, and that’s exactly what was happening here. When we were doing story pitches, we were coming up with a game that would be over ten hours long and so we suddenly realised everything we said was true and we couldn’t keep it short.”
A time frame as to how long the average play through will take is yet to be specified, but it sounds like we can expect some serious bang for our buck when it comes to Uncharted’s last outing. An exact release date for the expansion is yet to be announced but it looks like it’ll be out this year.
