Today, Respawn Entertainment released the official gameplay trailer for Titanfall 2’s Live Fire, a new mode dropping in a free update this month. Take a look at the trailer below.
Live Fire is the first elimination style mode in the game, meaning there are no respawns between rounds. Two teams of six are tasked with delivering the enemy’s flag back to their base without biting the dust first, and from what gameplay we’ve seen thus far, the mode looks intense.Adding to that tension are the two new Live Fire-exclusive maps that break the playable field down into a more narrow lane-based layout with a glass ceiling for ample grapple hook usage.

In a game in which death can come quicker than you can hammer Phase Shift to escape, it seems like one round of Live Fire would move along quickly, similar to Halo 5’s competitive mode Breakout (another mode with two teams on a narrow map, a central flag objective, plus decreased health for quick, highly skill-based games of strategy). Let’s hope Titanfall 2’s Live Fire is the beginning of something that neat.
