Still playing Pokemon Go, but wish you had a way to help out the Earth too? Niantic is going to be hosting a new Pokemon Go event on Earth Day this year in support of Mission Blue. Pokemon Go players will be able to earn some new goodies if there are enough of them who choose to participate in the new Earth Day event. The Earth wins, Pokemon Go players win, everyone wins!
The event will begin on April 22, where local cleanup events organized in various places to help out Mission Blue, a global initiative that’s working to protect marine life around the world. Players who join the cleanup events will help all Pokemon Go players to earn additional Stardust while they play the game. If enough trainers go to various events, then players will earn a nice bonus in the form of these rewards:
- 1,500 attendees: 2× catch Stardust for Grass-, Water-, and Ground-type Pokemon for 48 hours
- 3,000 attendees: 3× catch Stardust for Grass-, Water-, and Ground-type Pokemon for 48 hours
Not sure where to go to get started with a cleanup event? Check out the Pokemon Go Earth Day event page, which offer you various different places to head so that you can get in on the fun.
