Valve has officially announced the top 100 best selling Steam games of 2016, measuring them by gross revenue from the year. The titles have been separated into four tiers based on revenue with 12 games taking the spot of Platinum, then Gold, Silver, and Bronze after that.
The top 12 (which you can see below) aren’t organized in any specific order and Valve hasn’t shared exact sales numbers, but these are the top titles overall. It’s interesting to see big name titles from last year like The Witcher 3, Fallout 4, and Rocket League, which no doubt were put on sale multiple times in 2016. Of course we also see some of the most hotly anticipated titles of the year like Dark Souls 3, and No Man’s Sky.
Another interesting tidbit, is that the Steam Controller eked into the top 100 in the Bronze category. You can see the full list of curated titles here.
Steam also held the first ever Steam Awards at the end of 2016. These 12 awards have some strange categories like “Villain Most In Need of a Hug,” and are voted on by the community. Even stranger is that only two categories were won by games that released in 2016. Take a look at the awards here.
Are you surprised by any of the titles that made it into the top 12 or 100? How many do you own from the list? Let us know in the comments below.
