Copies of Halo 5 Guardians have been shipped to retailers this past week. Unfortunately, some of these stores have seemingly broken the sacred release date for one of fall’s biggest games.

Some gamers who snagged an early copy beat the campaign and were more than happy to share plot details to the rest of the internet. On the Xbox One subreddit, some of these gamers were baiting users to click on misleading posts — the links then revealed absolutely massive spoilers regarding Halo 5 Guardians campaign.

Most of the websites with Halo 5 Guardians spoiler posts are being vigilant and immediately removing them but if you want to remain spoiler free, tread lightly. The best bet for not having the game’s campaign ruined prematurely? Avoid message boards.

Microsoft just released its launch gameplay trailer for the game, which you can check out below.

With such an intriguing storyline revolving around Agent Locke and Master Chief, why would anyone want it to be spoiled? Hopefully we get more Prometheans and less Flood in this new Halo, a Spartan can dream right?

What do you guys think? Are you against having the game spoiled for you or do you enjoy knowing things ahead of time? Has anyone ever spoiled a big release for you and how did you affect your gaming experience? Let us know in the comments!
