Cheating is rather commonplace in PC games, but it looks like Overwatch, which hasn’t even been fully released yet, has already attracted some cheaters. A new community YouTube channel calling themselves the Overwatch Police has posted a few videos of two players from the Esports teams Cloud9 and EnvyUs. In the videos shown below, the Overwatch Police asserts that the players Taimou and Surefour were allegedly using aimbots to help them out with shooting down their enemies.
Judging from the videos alone, it is entirely possible that these players could just be incredibly skilled at FPS games, or they could be receiving aiming assistance using hacks or cheats. Of course, these accusations have been made by a community YouTube channel, so these players haven’t been banned from the beta or anything to that effect. Only the folks over at Blizzard will have the power to decide who’s cheating, and how to deal with them.
Overwatch is set to be released for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC on May 24, and the open beta closes on May 10, 10am Pacific Time.
