Final Fantasy XV May Have Changed Its Name from Versus XIII, but Google Translate Hasn’t Forgotten

#Neverforget.
This article is over 7 years old and may contain outdated information

After such a long time of waiting, Final Fantasy XV is soon coming to release to the grand masses. But before it was the title that we all now know, it used to be under the name Final Fantasy Versus XIII. Back in 2006 when the game was first announced, it was a PS3-exclusive and part of the Fabula Nova Crystallis subseries. (The same one that the XIII trilogy is comprised of.) Many things have remained the same (like the logo), but other things have changed, and there are still some who haven’t forgotten the game’s roots. Google Translate is one of them.

If you go to the website right now, go ahead and type in Final Fantasy XV, but change the language that you want to translate it into over to Latin. You’ll see that it translates to Final Fantasy Versus XIII for no other apparent reason than just because. Even though it’s been a long time since that initial footage, the Google Translate is still a cool way of acknowledging the game’s incredibly long development history.

Final Fantasy XV arrives on the PS4 and Xbox One on Nov. 29.
