Far Cry 5’s First Week Was Ubisoft’s Second Biggest Launch Ever in Terms of Sales
Coming only second to Tom Clancy’s The Division, Far Cry 5 has managed to become one of the most successful launches in Ubisoft’s history. The sprawling open-world shooter made $310 million in just the first week of releasing back earlier this year in March. The Division is still sitting at the number one spot with a whopping $330 million in its’ first week just over two years ago.
In the United Kingdom, Far Cry 5 even outsold Assassin’s Creed Origins and Ghost Recon: Wildlands, for first week sales that is. It was also the biggest launch of 2018 in the UK for any video game so far, which is no easy feat, especially when you have such huge games like Monster Hunter World to compete with.
Far Cry 5 is now available for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. You can check out our review of the game right here; we thought Hope County provided us with tons of stuff to do and see, with varied missions and stunning views but the loading times and technical issues left us a bit disappointed.
