Bethesda has announced that its open-world RPG, Fallout 76, will be free to play starting today up until Dec. 16 on all platforms, including PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
Not only will you be able to the game for free, but all players will receive Double XP. This free trial week includes the full game (Adventure Mode and Nuclear Winter) and users will need to be subscribed to Xbox Gold and PlayStation Plus before downloading the trial.
Bethesda has laid out all of the steps for you so that you can take part in the free trial, split by platform:
To take part in the Xbox One Free Trial Week:
- Ensure you are an Xbox Live Gold member or have Xbox Game Pass Ultimate
- Go to https://www.microsoft.com/p/fallout-76/bs6wj2l56b10
- If necessary, sign in
- Click “Install on my devices”
- The Trial should be queued on your Xbox at this time and will begin downloading when the console is turned on
- Once the download and installation process is complete, click “Start” to begin!
For the PlayStation 4 Free Trial Week:
- Ensure you are a PlayStation Plus member
- Go to PlayStation.com
- If necessary, sign in
- Choose “Full Game Trial” underneath “Add to Cart”
- The Trial should be queued on your PlayStation 4 at this time and will begin downloading when the console is turned on
- Once the download and installation process is complete, click “Start” to begin!
And for the PC Free Trial Week:
- If you already have the Bethesda.net launcher, simply make sure you’re already logged in with your Bethesda.net account and download Fallout 76. From there, you can just jump right in to the Free Trial.
- If you don’t have the Bethesda.net Launcher, you can download a custom installer with the Launcher and Fallout 76 here, then follow the instructions from above.
