Bethesda has today confirmed that the smash hit 2015 release, Fallout 4, will finally be getting PS4 Pro support next week.
The news came via a post over on the official Bethesda blog from Global Community Lead, Matt Grandstaff. In the post, it’s revealed that both Fallout 4 and Skyrim Special Edition will be receiving new updates across Xbox One, PS4, and PC. While the updates will add new mod content for both games, it’s PS4 Pro owners who should be most excited.
Beginning next week, Fallout 4’s update 1.9 on the PS4 will allow Fallout 4 to make use of the extra power of the PS4 Pro. Pro owners can expect the following improvements when playing Fallout 4 on the PS4 Pro.
- Native 1440p resolution
- Enhanced draw distance for trees, grass, objects and NPCs
- Enhanced Godray effects
Alongside this news, Bethesda also confirmed that the official high-resolution texture pack for Fallout 4 would be coming to Steam next week. Described as a “love letter to our amazing PC fans,” the texture pack comes in at a pretty huge 58 GB. The following PC specs are recommended for those wanting to try it out.
Recommended PC Specs
Windows 7/8/10 (64-bit OS required)
Intel Core i7-5820K or better
GTX 1080 8GB/AMD Radeon RX 490 8GB

If your system can handle Fallout 4’s high-resolution texture pack, Bethesda promises the Commonwealth will look better than ever. Currently, an exact date on when the updates will go live on each platform remains to be seen. Will you be jumping back into the Commonwealth on your PS4 Pro or PC next week?
