Epic Is Currently “Evaluating” Fortnite’s BRUTE Gameplay, Hinting at Upcoming Nerf

Epic is currently “evaluating” Fortnite’s B.R.U.T.E gameplay, as well as observing how it performs across all modes and skill levels,” according to a post shared over on r/FortniteBR by Community Manager, JustMooney1 yesterday.

The announcement comes following widespread dislike for the arrival of the new BRUTE mechs in Fortnite. Available in all game modes, the BRUTE mechs can either be operated by a single person switching between control of movement and control of weapons, or by two people working together in team-based modes.

Within days of Fortnite Season 10 starting and the mechs making their debut in the battle royale title, fans took to the Reddit and Twitter to complain about their devastating firepower. In particular, this pertains to its missile barrage, which sends 10 rockets in the direction of your target, demolishing any structures in their way and dealing 50 damage to other players each.

The full status update reads:

Heya folks,

Right now we’re evaluating B.R.U.T.E. gameplay, as well as observing how it performs across all modes and skill levels. We are also working to fix movement-related bugs with the B.R.U.T.E. to address exploits.

We will continue closely monitoring and keep you updated!

There’s currently no word on when any changes to the BRUTE will come to Fortnite, if ever, but this certainly hints that fans may finally be getting what they’ve been asking for since the start of the season.

Elsewhere in Fortnite, Neo Tilted got a taste of the Rift Zones yesterday, being transformed into Tilted Town — a Wild West-themed location where building and harvesting aren’t allowed, and formerly vaulted weapons exclusively spawn. Epic also added in a new automatic sniper rifle to bolster the arsenal of long-range weapons.
