Doom Eternal Composer Is Enlisting A Choir Of ‘Heavy Metal Screamers’

Video Game Composer Mick Gordon, who worked on the latest Doom released in 2016, has created some of the gaming world’s most kickass soundtracks. Now Gordon is looking to challenge himself with the Doom Eternal score by enlisting a choir made up entirely of ‘heavy metal screamers’.

A new video was recently posted to Mick Gordon’s YouTube channel titled ‘Join the Heavy Metal Choir’. In the video, the famed composer is requesting the help of vocalists to create a heavy metal choir for his newest game soundtrack. Doom Eternal is exactly the type of game you’d expect to have something as over the top as a metal choir.

The video can be viewed below:

Gordon has posted the application to join the project on his website. It states that the level of experience or one’s gender does not matter. All you need to apply is your name, email, and a demo of your best metal screams.

Those chosen to be a part of the recording will fly to Austin, Texas the first week of March to begin work. All who participate will be paid as well as receive a credit in Doom Eternal.

Gordon claims that to the best of his knowledge this has ever been done before.

The project certainly sounds ambitious, but Gordon’s resume is enough to show that he is one of the best in the business right now. He has composed soundtracks for Prey, Wolfenstein: The New Order, Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus, and the Xbox One exclusive reboot of Killer Instinct.

Doom Eternal is slated to come out in 2019, but an official release date has yet to be announced. The game will be available for PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
