Divinity: Original Sin 2 Trailer Breaks Down What’s in Store for Console Players

This article is over 7 years old and may contain outdated information

Divinity: Original Sin 2, the highly acclaimed RPG for PC, is set to release on consoles later this month with the definitive edition, and a new trailer shows there’s a lot in store for those willing to give it a look.

Streamed by Bandai Namco Entertainment, the trailer breaks down the many choices available to those who enter the world. Set in a land which is in need of a new divine protector, any and every type of character a player can think of is on the table: They can become a canabalistic elf, a friendly undead dwarf, a snake man out to reclaim the throne he was denied or whatever else their heart desires. Players can also take the role of six pre-made characters with stories of their own, helping them to see their ambitions realized.

Once their character is selected, the world and its gameplay can help them further dive into the role, with a bevy of options for how to overcome obstacles and eliminate threats. Strength-obsessed characters can smash and crash their way through enemies; magic users can burn obstacles in their path to a crisp; and the roguish types can talk their way out of sticky situations should stealth prove impossible. The choice is up to the player, and it’s anything but a limited one.
