Today Hideo Kojima himself revealed the prototype of a figure portraying Death Stranding’s protagonist’s Sam.
The reveal was made on the veteran developer’s Twitter account [Source: 1, 2], with multiple pictures showing the gorgeous figure in detail from many angles.
Kojima-san himself mentioned that the statue s in a massive 1/2 scale, like the one we saw a while ago portraying the studio’s mascot Ludens. He also explained that it’s just a prototype and it could be used as a reference for cosplayers and fanart.
You can check it out in the gallery at the bottom of the post. Speaking of figures, recently Kojima-san also introduced a prototype of a figma action figure, still portraying Sam.
If you want to know more about Death Stranding, Kojima-san is currently assembling its parts and testing the gameplay on PS4. He also made a few comments on the state of development a few weeks ago.
You can also read some semi-recent impressions by Head of Marketing and Communications Aki Saito and actor Norman Reedus, and more by Guerrilla Games Managing Director Hermen Hulst.
For now, we know that Death Stranding is coming to PS4, and recently Hideo Kojima himself possibly teased a 2019 release. That being said it was a very vague tease and it could have meant something else.
