Far Cry Primal Apparently Uses the Same Map as Far Cry 4

That's... efficient?
This article is over 8 years old and may contain outdated information

A vigilant Reddit user has noticed some striking similarities between the maps used in Far Cry 4 and the latest entry in Ubisoft’s series, Far Cry Primal. If you take a look at the images below, you’ll notice that the area layouts for both worlds look very similar. The placement of the rivers, water bodies, and islands are almost exactly the same, suggesting that Ubisoft may have reused assets from Far Cry 4 and put them in Far Cry Primal.

It’s a rather smart move on their part. Being able to reuse assets means saving time and allocating more resources to focusing on other aspects of the game. While Primal does seem to introduce enough new stuff to keep the experience fresh though, it is understandable why players might feel slighted by the idea that Primal seems to just be an extension or reskin of the previous game. Then again, if no one’s noticed the map usage until now, does it really matter all that much?

Hopefully we’ll see a brand new map layout in Far Cry 5, or whatever the next game in the series is called. What are your thoughts on the map being reused? Let us know in the comments down below.
