During the 2020 PC Gaming Show, Rocketwerkz, the developer behind Day Z, announced its next project Icarus.

Icarus is a co-op survival game that takes players to alien worlds and tasks them with collecting materials under a specific time constraint.

Players will embark on “drops” to different biomes. Each drop can range from 20 minutes to multiple days. One of the biggest enemies in Icarus is your own time management.

If you don’t succeed in completing your tasks during a drop, you’ll lose your character and everything they had on them.

The trailer below showcased during the livestream features plenty of survival game staples like base building, vehicles, and mining.

Icarus does not sound like it’s for the faint of heart. According to the website, “Harsh environments demand an envirosuit, regular oxygen, food and water, shelter and constant attention. The wildlife is easily provoked, and your plans may need to change on the fly.”

You can take all of the resources you’ve gathered from these drops to upgrade and enhance your space station.

Get your friends together and drop in because Icarus is targeting a 2021 PC release and will be free to play.
