Crash Team Racing Remaster May Be Revealed at the Game Awards

This article is over 6 years old and may contain outdated information

After the success of the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, there has been a lot of speculation surrounding a possible remaster of the hit cart racer, Crash Team Racing. Originally released for the PlayStation One in 1999, this racer developed a huge following, many of which have been wanting to see more from the series.

Well, the wait seems to be over, as a Twitter post from a video editor for PlayStation Access, Hollie Bennett, seems to be teasing the remaster.

There had been rumors in regards to the possible remaster of Crash Team Racing floating around this week, but the Tweet from Bennett seems pretty concrete. The dice in the Tweet are ones you “might hang on a car’s rear-view mirror”, as stated in a recent Eurogamer post.

While Activision has not publicly announced the CTR Remaster, sources from Eurogamer seem to believe this is “the real deal”. Activision will reportedly make the official announcement later this week.

Nostalgia has been ever-present this year, with the release of the PlayStation Classic, Spyro Reignited Trillogy, Pokemon: Let’s Go, and release of the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy on Nintendo Switch and Xbox One, so it seems fitting to end the year with an announcement like this one.

The Game Awards are shaping up to have a stellar lineup of announcements and we look forward to covering the show this Thursday, Dec. 6, 2018 at 8:30 PM EST.
