However, some former Club Nintendo members are being gifted Platinum Points by Nintendo out of the blue. The company has been sending out emails to North American members that include a code for 200 free Platinum Points.

There doesn’t appear to be a European equivalent of the promotion yet. If you live in North America however and used to be a member of Club Nintendo, make sure to check your email.

Platinum Points can be used to redeem various prizes through the new system and are generally earned by completing one-off ‘missions’ or by completing weekly and daily tasks.

Nintendo have also released their first smartphone app, Miitomo, across the world. They are also working on a mysterious new device, currently only known as NX.
