If you’ve been sitting around patiently waiting for the Call of Duty: WWII Private Multiplayer Beta to drop, then you might want to go ahead and hop on PlayStation 4 right now for a surprise. The beta has dropped ahead of schedule, and you can head online to play it right now if you’ve got your code handy.

If you preordered the game, you should have gotten your code to to download the beta client, so dig out your code and put it in to let the download get underway. There’s a lot of carnage to be had, with people already at level 20 and above from the short time the game has been live ahead of its forecasted time of 10 AM PT on August 25.

There’s no word on why the beta has gone live ahead of schedule, but it’s been live for a while, as tweeted by Sledgehammer Games’ Michael Condrey. He also made the comment that the beta’s rank cap may in fact be raised as the beta wears on. The first private beta period is scheduled to go on all the way through August 28, but if you end up missing it this time around, you can come back from September 1 through September 4 if you need some more time in-game. Xbox One and PC players will get access at a later date.

For now, it’s time to choose your division and get your Call of Duty on!
