Today, during Activision Blizzard’s financial conference call for investors and analysts, the company’s executives announced interesting plans for the Blizzard arm going forward.
We hear that Blizzard is “investing on other Warcraft games looking for more ways for the community to engage with this enduring and beloved franchise.”
We also hear that the number of developers working on the Diablo series will “grow substantially” as the teams work on “several projects underway for the franchise as well as the global launch of Diablo Immortal.”
Blizzard is “reinforcing its pipeline with more resources than ever before to support “mobile titles, several PC and console releases” alongside new content for World of Warcraft.
Blizzard recently announced Diablo Immortal for mobile platforms to rather mixed response from the fans. They also released World of World of Warcraft’s latest expansion Battle for Azeroth.
It’ll certainly be interesting to see where Activision and Blizzard will lead the Warcraft and Diablo franchises, and if among those “other Warcraft games” mentioned today there is one titled “Warcraft IV.” A man can dream.
