The open beta phase for Battlefield V will be held a month before it’s official release in October, giving interested gamers a chance to experience first-hand how EA DICE is bringing the series back to its world war II roots.
As announced on the game’s official blog, EA’s Battlefield V open beta will start sometime in early September. No details was disclosed regarding available maps and game modes, though it’s highly likely that the same content in the closed alpha will be publicly playable in September: Conquest and Gran Operations game modes set in Arctic Fjord.
EA also revealed that a new build of Battlefield V will be playable at Gamescom 2018, with the developers already incorporating the feedback they received from the closed alpha. Among these include tighter gunplay through better weapon control and single-fire mode for more weapons.
Our very own Ed McGlone was impressed with the closed alpha version of Battlefield V, stating that it “sounds great, plays great, even in an early state.”
Battlefield V is scheduled to launch on Oct. 19, 2018 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One, but those who opt for the deluxe edition will get to play three days early. Unlike previous games in the series, all future content will be made available for free, possibly including its yet to be seen battle royale mode.
