Compile Heart is on a sharing spree, having spent the last few days showing off a ton of story gameplay of Azur Lane Crosswave.
Today we get even more, taking a look at more popular shipgirls from the Sakura Empire faction, like Takao, Atago, Akagi, Kaga, Nagato. Among the two new protagonists, we see only Shimakaze, while Suruga takes a little break.
You can check it out below. Do keep in mind that the video includes a spoiler warning, but if can’t understand Japanese, you’re quite safe.
On the mobile front, Yostar also released a video featuring Cleveland’s theme song, titled “13 Battle Star” and performed by Saya Horigome, who is also Cleveland’s own voice actress.
You can enjoy it below.
Incidentally, we also get the patch notes for a (relatively small) update being implemented today in the game. The servers just went up with the patch at the moment of this writing.
Here’s an advance notification for the coming maintenance period. Please plan accordingly for the scheduled server downtime.

Last, but not least, we get the clean, high-resolution version of the beautiful illustration of Baltimore and Alabama by Nagu that has graced the game’s splash screen over the past few days. You can see it below and download it in full-size here.
Azur Lane: Crosswave will launch on the Japanese shelves on August 29, 2019, for PS4. A western release has recently been announced for 2020.
If you’re unfamiliar with the original Azur Lane game, it’s a free-to-play mobile horizontal scrolling shooter/RPG hybrid currently available for iOS and Android.
If you’re interested in the franchise as a whole, you can also check out our report of the event Yostar organized in Yokosuka, Japan.
