Yo-Kai Watch Busters is a spinoff of the original Yo-kai Watch games that didn’t quite make it westward, but the core role-playing games did. So there’s hope for this one yet. Yo-kai Watch Busters 2 has been announced, and it’s on the way to Japan this winter, according to the latest issue of CoroCoro Comic.
The original Yo-kai Watch Busters didn’t make its way over to Western audiences, however, even though the game series seemed tailor-made for Nintendo 3DS owners with its beat-‘em-up sensibilities. There aren’t many details out surrounding what the new game will contain, nor is there any information on whether or not the games will be split into several entries, a la Yo-kai Watch Busters Red Cat Team and White Dog Corps, which came out in July 2015 in Japan.
Seeing as the Yo-kai series has really caught on over the past couple of years here, it seems like we could see these installments make their way over, but nothing is concrete as of yet. Perhaps it’s still going to happen, but if you’re a Yo-kai fan, I wouldn’t get my hopes up just now with this new announcement.
