Metal Gear: Survive is the next entry to be released in the Metal Gear saga and will be the first game to be published by Konami since the series’ creator, Hideo Kojima, left in 2015. Kojima’s departure caused quite a stir among gamers and left many feeling Konami had treated him unfairly. The announcement of Metal Gear: Survive received lukewarm enthusiasm from Metal Gear fans, but it looks like it could have some interesting tidbits nevertheless. It may not be the same without Kojima, but we’re certainly intrigued by Survive and, if you are too, then you’ll want to check out this six-minute long gameplay trailer released by Konami (via IGN) that shows off much off the resource gathering, base building, and zombie slaying that players will encounter in the game. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eqMIqJDjarg&feature=youtu.be The trailer also announces that a beta for the game is set to begin on Jan. 18 and players will be able to get a taste of what’s to come. The plot of the game is separate from the main Metal Gear series and follows a group of soldiers who get caught in a wormhole and land in an alternate dimension where they must defend themselves from zombie-like creatures. So far it seems the gaming community still isn’t too excited for the game as, at the time of writing, it has over 2k likes and 5k dislikes. Still, if the gameplay is fun and reviews well, it could still attract an audience.
