With the new Injustice fighting game already beginning to build momentum until its eventual 2017 release, fans have been wondering what guest characters could make an appearance. NetherRealm Studios’ Creative Director Ed Boon took to Twitter today in order to ask fans how they’d feel about Mortal Kombat’s Reptile appearing in Injustice 2. In his tweet, Boon simply asked “Reptile in i2?” with a photo of the character from the original game.

Now this seems far less like an actual character teaser and more Boon wanting to see how fans would react. Sadly, his followers had mixed feelings about the acid-spewing fighters introduction into the Injustice 2 roster.

It’s doubtful we will see this character appear in Injustice 2, but it’s nice that Boon is probing his fans for who’d they want. In fact, not long ago Boon asked if they’d want to see any of the heroes from Watchmen as fighters, so the door is still open. Given that Boon hasn’t had an issue adding other third party characters like Freddy Kruger into his fighting titles, there’s no telling who could show up. Personally, we are still hoping that Shao Kahn shows up, just so we can beat him to death as Doomsday.
