Major game releases are always preceded by some exciting events and one-of-a-kind promotions, but Final Fantasy XV will have an unusual offer to get their fans’ appetites wet for the game’s release on November 29.

Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen restaurant in London will be serving up Final Fantasy XV inspired dishes from November 22 to November 29, which is when the game will be available for Xbox One and PS4.

While it may seem like an unusual way to promote and celebrate the release, Fifteen London Events Manager Jonathan Woodhouse believes the special menu was a no-brainer.

“Final Fantasy XV has a unique relationship with food,” he said. “The cooking and sharing of meals by the four friends on their journey emphasizes the power a great dish has on bringing people together.”

Final Fantasy XVHe goes on to say that the team at Fifteen is inspired by that idea and hopes to always “celebrate the magic of food.”

The unique promotion does emphasize the role we see food play in Final Fantasy XV but it also serves as a reminder of an even bigger picture that goes beyond the massive Square Enix-created hit.

It reminds gamers everywhere that their passion is no longer a niche one.

In recent years we have seen esports make it to major networks like TBS and ESPN, gaming conventions become international behemoths that give a jolt to local economies, popular game titles get adaptations for TV and film, major retailers make a point to carry the latest fashions and accessories for consumers who want to embrace their love of gaming culture, more celebrities open up about their favorite games and, now, we will even see the food industry starting to embrace a culture that has been flying under the radar for far too long.

Depending on the success of this promotion, it could only be a matter of time before we see even more restaurants roll out menus that are dedicated to getting gamers away from their controller or keyboard and sitting around their tables.
